What are the maximum burn times for the candles? Maximum burn times tend to vary with each candle, however; we have provided our instructions on approximate burn times (see list below). • 26 oz. Jar Candles - 130 hours • 16 oz Jar Candles - 80 hours • 8 oz Tin Candles - 40-45 hours • 4 oz Tin Candles - 20-25 hours • Tealights Candles - 4-5 hours What type of wicks do we use in our candlemaking? The three types of wicks we use in our candles making process are paper core, zinc, and cotton. Those types of wicks are approved safe and are specifically designed for candlemaking. We do not use lead cores because those types of wicks are banned in the United States of America and according the National Candle Organization, lead wicks have been banned in our country since 2003 (National Candle Association, 2009). When should I trim the candlewick? Candlewicks should be trimmed approximately ¼ inch for burning. If the candlewick is too long then the candle will burn unevenly and at a rapid pace. Please make certain to keep any debris out of the candle such as a trimmed wick or match particles. When is it best to extinguish a candle? Remember, always extinguish a candle the flame gets too close to the holder or container. Safety guidelines suggest discontinuing a candle when 2 inches of wax remains in a container or jar candle. Why does the candle flame become smaller after burning for a few hours? The liquid wax could be flooding the flame of the candle, which can cause the candle to become smaller or extinguish. The remedy to this situation would either to extinguish the candle flame and pour out the liquid wax. How do we Package the glass candles jars in the candle gift baskets? Some of the products we sell and send via UPS is glass, which is a breakable item, and we take extra precautions, such as, the glass candle jars will be wrapped in a clear bubble wrap when packaging our candle gift baskets for shipping purposes. Why does a candle burn unevenly? A candle will burn unevenly when it is placed near a draft, such as a door, window, or an air conditioning unit. Try to rotate your candle, so it will offset the uneven burning. What candle safety tips do you recommend for burning candles? When using candles we need to remember to use candle safety and precautions, which means you need watch them carefully and please do not leave your candles unattended. What is the proper way to extinguish a candle? The most important when extinguishing a candle is to hold your fingers in front of the flame and blow it out. The air will move around your fingers to extinguish the flame and without splattering the candle wax fluid. How do you remove the remaining wax out of a candleholder, candle jar, or candle tin? After the candle has been extinguished, place the jar in the freezer for one hour or even overnight and then try popping out the frozen wax out of the candleholder, candle jar, or candle tin. How can I clean my candle? Remove soiled or dusty candles with using water and a soft cloth. How do you get candle wax out of fabrics? You can let the wax harden and then use a knife to scrape up the wax. Read laundry or tag instructions, which is provided by the manufacturer of the item. You can also try to have the item cleaned professionally. How do I remove candle wax from furniture? A suggestion to remove candle wax from furniture would be running an ice cube over the furniture. If there is a large amount of wax, you may be able to scrape it off with and use a paint stirring stick and clean cheesecloth to remove the candle wax.
